Birth Doula Services

Pregnancy, labour, birth, breastfeeding and postpartum is a time of tremendous change as a woman becomes a "mother", a man becomes a "father" and a couple becomes parents. Being educated and supported by a birth doula during this time eases the transition.

You will receive:

• Six hours of birth preparation in your home or in Karen's studio, designed to build your knowledge, skills and confidence to be active participants in your birth.
• An opportunity to build skills and confidence in providing your partner with the vital support needed during pregnancy, labour, birth, breastfeeding and postpartum. 
• A copy of "Prepared Childbirth"- the most current, evidence based childbirth handbook available.
• Access to Karen's extensive birth library. 
• Emotional and physical support for both the mother and her partner during the labor, the birth and one hour after birth.
• Three hours of breastfeeding and postpartum support.
• A follow up phone call/email/visit at three months postpartum.
